Will you be looking for staff this summer or within the next 12 months?Do you want to safeguard the economic and social future of our region? Recruiting and developing young people is the most cost-effective way in the long term for any business to build a productive and dynamic workforce. _____________________________________________
Come along to theLIFT Employer Event, which will help local businesses and organisations to successfully recruit, employ and manage young people.
It's really important we get our local young people into meaningful work.
More than one in five of the 15 to 24 year olds in our region are not in employment, education or training.
Yet, if just 15 percent of our local small or medium-sized businesses employed oneof these young people, they would all have a job!
During his recent visit to the region, Economic Development Minister Simon Bridges said "Getting young people into long-term employment is a key component of sustained regional economic growth".
You will hear from local businesses and recruitment specialists about what works and what doesn't, when you are recruiting and employing our local young people who have been unemployed.
You will get access to free, practical tools and resources and make key contacts to help you recruit and sustain the employment of local young people in your business or organisation.
We encourage all types of employers to come along - private sector, public sector and community sector.
If you work with local suppliers or contractors, please bring them. It is critical that we support our small, medium and large local employers to all be successful in recruiting our rangatahi.
